Crystal Castles + Possession + Raf + Jil = ♥

Tudo começou com o novo video da música Plague do Crystal Castles, banda que está no top das minhas favoritas. O trecho do filme Possession fez todo o sentido pra a música, e a seqüência esquizofrênica de Isabelle Adjani no túnel do metrô é pura sincronia com os gritos de Alice Glass. A partir daí eu lembrei que Possession é um daqueles filmes que sempre estiveram na minha lista de must-watch que nunca parei pra assistir, e que entrou pra lista dos meus filmes favoritos principalmente por ser um suspense psicológico ultra envolvente.
It started with the new Crystal Castles video for Plague, one of my favorite bands. The snippet from the movie Possession gives the perfect sense to the music and the schizophrenic sequence staring Isabelle Adjani possessed on a tunnel is perfectly synchronized to the screams of Alice Glass. From then on I reminded that Possession was one of those films from my must-watch list, and now it lies on my favorite's mainly because it's a involving psychological thriller.

Como eu sou fã de Raf Simons e Jil Sander, e não perco a oportunidade de associar coisas, durante o filme inteiro eu só conseguia relacionar as caracterizações do casal principal Mark (Sam Neill) e Anna (Isabelle Adjani) com esses dois nomes. Mark é quase idêntico a Raf, tanto fisicamente quanto no jeito de se vestir, e Anna usa roupas que são muito Jil Sander.
As I'm a declared fan of Raf Simons and Jil Sander (and I never miss the opportunity to connect things), throughout the film I could only relate Mark's (Sam Neill) and Anna's (Isabelle Adjani) charaterizations with these two names. Mark is almost identical to Raf, both the way of dressing and the hair and face, and Anna wears clothes that is very Jil Sander ish.

Knuckles

Em Fundamentos da Linguagem Visual (aula de Desenho) foi sugerido um trabalho em que construiríamos um suporte para transferência de desenho de observação, e esse foi o trabalho que eu produzi. O desenho de observação da soqueira fala sobre a ideia de icone, e de como um objeto pequeno tem um significado grande e forte.
In Foundations of Visual Language (drawing class) was suggested a work of surface construction, where we could transfer an observational drawing to it, and here is what I produced. The observational drawing of a knuckle speaks about the icon idea and how a little object can may contain a bigger and stronger meaning.

Klein Blue

Moulage by Yves Klein / Calvin Klein Fall 2011 / Ultramarine pigment

Em uma aula de pintura da faculdade desvendei um mistério que eu nunca corri atrás de entender. Sempre ouvi falar no tal azul Klein, lindo e vibrante, mas nunca entendi o motivo do "Klein" no nome. Eu sempre associava ao azul típico de Calvin Klein, até que minha professora me apresentou as obras de Yves Klein: o minimalista obcecado pelo azul ultramar que patenteou a cor com o seu nome. Segundo ela, a obra mais impressionante é essa escultura da esquerda, em que o artista "grudou" o pó do pigmento e posicionou em frente a uma folha de ouro, e pra quem vê ao vivo a imponência da cor é impactante.
Once in a painting class I figured out a big mystery in my head. I always heard about that Klein blue, beautiful and vibrant, but never understood the reason of the "Klein" name. I always related to the typical blue in Calvin Klein collections, until my teacher presented me to the works of Yves Klein, the minimal artist obsessed with the ultramarine blue that patented this color with his name. According to her the most impressive work of him is this sculpture from the left, wich he "glued" the ultramarine pigment powder and positioned it against a golden foil. For those who see it the impact of the color is striking.

Raf Des Garçons // Comme Des Simons

Pensei em várias formas de como começar esse post, já que faz um tempo bem grande entre esse e o anterior. Desde lá meus dias têm sido bastante agitados, muitos acontecimentos já no início do ano. Mas isso ficará prum post resumão que farei depois! Mas antes, gostaram do novo visual? Fiz o cabeçalho usando carvão usando a mesma fonte que já adotei pra sempre, além do espaço estar maior para as fotos ficarem mais bonitas também. Vamos ao que importa...
I thought about many ways of how I could start this post. There's a huge gap between this and the last one. My days have been full of events and happenings. But this is subject for another post. Before we talk about the look, did you like my new header? It's made of charcoal and I decided to keep the font. The width has increased too, so the pictures look better now. So, let's talk about what matters...

Uma vez eu estava na loja de tecidos que tem aqui perto da minha casa dando uma olhada já que precisava de algo novo pra usar numa festa. Ví essa estampa de pois bem grandinha e aconteceu tudo isso na minha cabeça:
Once I was inside the fabric store near my home looking for something good to wear for a party. Then I saw this polka dots pattern and all this happened in my head:

O resultado disso tudo foi essa blusa, com o shape das blusas da coleção S/S 2012 de Raf Simons com o romantismo da estampa de bolas de Comme Des Garçons.
The result of all this was that blouse with the shape seen on Raf Simons S/S 2012 with the romantic feel of Comme Des Garçons polka dots.

Esses sapatos eu achei numa loja no centro de Porto Alegre, bem popular. São sapatos de segurança. Adoro o fato deles serem grosseiros e a sola ser parecida com as de coturno. Eles me lembram os sapatos da Dr Martens, só que o preço deles não é nem 1% do que custa um Dr Martens. HEHE Já pensei em pintá-los com spray de tinta em alguma cor pastel,e deixar o solado preto.
These shoes I found at a very popular store in downtown Porto Alegre, and they are security shoes. I love the way they look gross. Reminds me of Dr Martens shoes but it isn't like 1% of what a Dr Martens costs. HEHE I thought of spray paint them in a pastel color and keep the black sole.

Sumer Roses

Ultimamente eu reparei que estou um pouco obsecado por estampas florais, especialmente de rosas e especialmente em cores suaves. Se tiver cara de papel-de-parede antigo, forro de almofada ou de sofá me encanta mais ainda. É difícil achar roupas com esse tipo de estampa, então enquanto eu estava no Rio decidi costurar essa blusa com a sobra de um tecido que eu tinha usado em uma encomenda. Ela foi feita metade à mão e metade na máquina, já que não teria como ter levado a minha na viagem. Ela é ótima pro verão, bem fresquinha e leve.

Lately I realized my obsession with floral patterns, specially if they're roses and soft colors. If it looks like an old wallpaper or old pillows. It's hard to find male clothes with this kind of pattern, so when I was in Rio I decided to make this top out of a textile scrap I u sed on an late order. It's half hand-made and half machine-sewn, because I wasn't able to carry my machine to Rio. It's great for summer, it's very soft and fresh on the skin.

A modelagem é a de camisa, só que sem gola, mangas e abertura na frente. Os botões vão do lado da gola, afinal seria impossível passar minha enorme cabeça haha.

The pattern is the same as the shirt, but with no collar, sleeves and buttons. I put them on the side shoulder so I can let my big head pass through the hole haha.

Já que faz tempo que eu prometo mostrar mais desenhos meus, pro próximo post eu preparei mais um vídeo mostrando alguns que andei fazendo no meu moleskine. Fiquem de olho! (:

I ♥ RIO

Voltei! A temporada no Rio dessa vez foi um pouco longa (quase 2 meses), mas já estou de volta e o vestibular já passou. Ou seja, vou aproveitar o resto do verão em casa! Na viagem eu só tirei fotos com a câmera analógica, e enquanto não revelo o filme, aqui vão algumas que tirei com meu blackberry de alguns passeios que fiz por lá.

I'm back! The season spent in Rio was a little bit long (almost 2 months) but I'm back and the exams are done. That means that I'm gonna spent the rest of the summer in home! In this trip I took the most of the pictures in film, and while it isn't developed yet here are some that I took with my blackberry.
